A short story for Friday

It's been way too long since I blogged. Work has had me tied to a smoking keyboard and most of my last few weeks have been absorbed by launching the new Netregistry website.

However, searching through folder after folder on the hard drives trying to find an elusive doc a few days ago, I came across an old short story I penned way back in 1995. Originally written as part of a creative writing component of my journalism traineeship - where it got perfect marks, naturally - it hasn't been published elsewhere.

Hence it's probably overdue to be read by people other than myself and one sole lecturer. I'll admit I have given it a further redraft. It's amazing how fifteen years can turn phrases I once thought were excellent into words that make me cringe now - so forgive me a bit of revisionist rewriting.

Anyhow, in lieu of any recent blog posts - and as it's Friday afternoon, here's something for you to read and hopefully share.

Go on - read it now. You know you want to... A Novel Immortality.
